- Justice Michael Penny, an Ontario Superior Court judge, has denied a request by ex-Dye & Durham Ltd. DND.TO chairman Tyler Proud to remove his nominee to the board, Edward Prittie, and replace him with hedge fund manager Eric Shahinian at upcoming special meeting.
- Canadian software company Kinaxis Inc. KXS.TO has hired investment banker Goldman Sachs for financial advice on generating better shareholder returns after recent challenges that have weighed on the stock.
- Brookfield Asset Management Ltd's BAM.TO exploratory proposal to launch a fund worth as much as $50 billion that would seek to raise money from major Canadian pension funds and from Ottawa to invest in Canadian assets was met with lukewarm interest, sources said.

- Inflation slowed to two per cent in August, the slowest increase in the consumer price index since February of 2021, hitting the Bank of Canada’s target and increasing the odds of a 50-basis-point cut at the central bank’s next meeting in October, according to economists.
