FactSet's fiscal 2025 outlook likely to be conservative, Raymond James says
** Raymond James expects business data provider FactSet Research Systems' FDS.N initial FY 2025 outlook to be relatively conservative given the sales backdrop and ongoing competitive challenges
** FactSet, which competes with Bloomberg, LSEG LSEG.L, and S&P Capital IQ, has been grappling with sluggish revenue growth as clients cut back spending on business data and analytics
** Brokerage says FY 2024 has been a relatively disappointing for FDS with the firm having to cut its revenue and organic annual subscription value growth outlooks over the course of the year
** Adds it suspects more formidable competition for FDS from LSEG
** Raymond James says recent and abrupt departure of CFO Linda Huber implies there could be less focus on operating margin expansion in FY 2025
** FactSet, also known as the desktop company, is set to report Q4 2024 results on Sept 19
** As of last close, FDS shares down 11.4% YTD
