Switzerland's Sika acquires Vinaldom in Dominican Republic
ZURICH, Aug 2 (Reuters) -Switzerland's Sika AG SIKA.S said on Friday it had acquired chemicals construction company Vinaldom in the Dominican Republic, boosting the firm's presence in the Caribbean.
The deal for the family-owned Vinaldom will add a manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic where Sika has not previously had its own plant, the Swiss chemicals maker said in a statement, without disclosing the value of the transaction.
It will be Sika's sixth factory in the Caribbean.
"The acquisition strengthens Sika's position in the fast-growing Dominican market and offers significant cross-selling opportunities throughout the Caribbean region," Sika said.
Vinaldom's product range includes concrete admixtures, fibers, adhesives, and sealants, it added. The company was founded in 1968, according to Vinaldom's website.
