Turkey - Factors To Watch on Sept 11
ANKARA, Sept 11 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.0160-34.0850 against the U.S. dollar at 0430 GMT, compared with a close of 34.0360 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.78% lower at 9,624.04 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian markets wobbled and U.S. stock futures slipped on Wednesday after Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump clashed in a keenly-awaited U.S. presidential debate.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an oath ceremony for a new member of the Constitutional Court in Ankara (1100 GMT).
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend the ambassadors reception of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (1500 GMT).
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend a conference and then visit a textile fair in Istanbul (0700 GMT).
TRANSPORT MINISTER
Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu will meet Korean counterpart Park Sang-Woo in Seoul.
UNEMPLOYMENT
Turkey's unemployment rate dipped 0.4 percentage points month-on-month to 8.8% in July, official data showed on Tuesday.
TURKISH-AMERICAN ACTIVIST
The death of a Turkish American woman by Israeli troops at a protest in the West Bank last week was unintentional, Israel's military said on Tuesday following an inquiry into the incident.
