Turkey - Factors To Watch on Sept 18
ANKARA, Sept 18 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.0200-34.1115 against the U.S. dollar at 0420 GMT, compared with a close of 34.1000 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.89% higher at 9,758.14 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
The dollar ceded some of its overnight gains on Wednesday while Asian stocks put in a mixed display as traders weighed the odds of a super-sized Federal Reserve interest rate cut later in the day.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an awards ceremony for Turkish contractors in Ankara (1100 GMT).
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend a defence industry event in Ankara (0630 GMT).
TURKEY-SWEDEN TALKS
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Swedish counterpart Maria Malmer Stenergard will chair the first meeting of Turkey-Sweden security talks in Ankara. Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Sweden's Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer will also attend the meeting.
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend an event in Istanbul (0600 GMT).
