Turkey - Factors To Watch on Sept 6
ANKARA, Sept 6 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 33.9550-34.0245 against the U.S. dollar at 0430 GMT, compared with a close of 33.9800 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.48% lower at 9,936.76 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares clung to tight ranges and the dollar nursed losses on Friday, with investors on tenterhooks ahead of U.S. jobs data that could decide the size and speed of coming rate cuts in the world's largest economy.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an event on education technologies in Istanbul (1130 GMT).
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will visit Northern Cyprus where he will meet Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and will attend a meeting on energy security.
FOREIGN MINISTER
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will hold a joint press conference with his Kosovan counterpart Donika Gervalla-Schwarz in Pristina (0830 GMT).
AGRICULTURE MINISTER
Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli will hold a press conference to announce agricultural production planning and new subsidiaries programme (0630 GMT).
MAIN OPPOSITION
Main opposition CHP will hold its extraordinary convention to amend the party bylaw (0700 GMT).
CASH BALANCE TRCASH=ECI
The Treasury will announce its cash balance for August (1430 GMT).
MEDIUM-TERM PROGRAMME
Turkey aims to achieve single-digit inflation by 2026 and raise economic growth to 5% by 2027, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said on Thursday as he unveiled the government's three-year economic policy roadmap.
