UK's Rentokil hits over 4-year low on weakness in North America
** British pest control company Rentokil Initial RTO.L tumbles 20% to 379.8p; stock at its lowest level since April 2020
** RTO is the worst performer on London's main market index .FTSE and pan-European STOXX 600 index .STOXX
** Co says it would cut jobs and warns of further weakness in its largest market North America
** RTO did not specify how many jobs would be impacted by its cost-cutting plan, but added that measures were intended to address cost overruns as it moved past the peak season
** Co's North America sales in July and August came in lower than expected
** It expects organic revenue growth from the business of about 1% in second half
** "The lack of growth recovery despite additional investment and at an early stage in the branch integration progress will be seen as a concern by the market, we expect," - analysts at Jefferies
** As of last close, stock down up 10% YTD
