- Boeing's BA.N U.S. West Coast factory workers will walk off the job after 96% voted in favor of a strike, halting production of the planemaker's strongest-selling jet, a potentially costly disruption as it tries to increase airplane production after a safety crisis.
- The U.S. government has urged Nigeria to release Tigran Gambaryan, an employee of the giant cryptocurrency exchange Binance, who was arrested there in February and has faced mounting medical problems in prison, according to two senior State Department officials.
- A U.S. regulator on Thursday banned Navient NAVI.O from servicing federal student loans, excluding the company once known as Sallie Mae from a market it once led, and ordered it to pay $120 million for years of student lending failures.
- Microsoft-backed MSFT.O OpenAI unveiled a new version of ChatGPT called OpenAI o1 which can test various strategies and try to identify mistakes as it tackles complex tasks and said it could "reason" through tasks involving math, coding and science.
