Exane downgrades Holcim on earnings slowdown expectations; shares fall
** Shares of Swiss building materials company Holcim HOLN.S fall around 1.2%
** Exane BNP Paribas cuts its rating on the stock to "neutral" from "outperform", expecting a slowdown in earnings
** The avg rating of 22 brokerages on the stock is a "buy" - LSEG
** Brokerage lowersits forecasts, estimating Holcim's 2024/2025 EBIT at 2%-3% below consensus, citing mounting forex impact, "more challenging" base effect
** Holcim cut its FY sales outlook in July, warning of downturns in North America and weak market conditions in Europe
** Exane says the company's valuation is less compelling after its 28% rally YTD and recent downgrades
** It also notes a lack of updates on the group's plan to spin off its North American business, which raises concerns around capital allocation and structure
