Indian shares open lower as IT, financials drag

BENGALURU, Sept 30 (Reuters) -Indian shares opened lower onMonday, dragged by information technology and financial stocks as profit booking emerged at record high levels.
The NSE Nifty 50 index .NSEI fell0.4%at 26,178.95 points asof 9:28 a.m IST, while the S&P BSE Sensex .BSESN dropped0.5% at 85,571.85.
The benchmarks indexes had declinedon Friday, as investors booked profits after a six-session rally on the back of an outsized U.S. interest rate cut, which bolstered expectations of more foreign inflows.
IT stocks .NIFTYIT dropped 1% in early trade, giving up the near-1% gain they logged over the last two sessions.
Financial services .NIFTYFIN were also down 0.5%, falling for the second consecutive session, and were among the top drags on the benchmark.
