Intel rises on partnership to produce chips for AWS
** Shares of chipmaker Intel INTC.O rise 6.8% to $22.3 in premarket
** Co's foundry business announces strategic partnership with Amazon's AMZN.O cloud services unit, AWS
** INTC to make custom artificial intelligence chips for AWS as part of multibillion-dollar collaboration
** Co to produce an AI fabric chip for AWS using the chip maker's most advanced process node, 18A
** Co also outlines its cost-cutting plans, including selling a stake in programmable chip business Altera as well as pausing chip factory projects in Germany and Poland
** Last month INTC announced 15% job cut and reported downbeat Q2 results
** Majority of brokerages rate the stock "hold"; their median PT is $25
** Up to last close, INTC had fallen 58.38% YTD, compared with a 17.21% increase in Nasdaq index .IXIC and 18.08% gains in S&P 500 index .SPX
