Turkey - Factors To Watch on Oct 1
ISTANBUL, Oct 1 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Tuesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.2050 against the U.S. dollar at 0420 GMT, firming slightly from a close of 34.2110 on Monday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.14% lower at 9,665.78 points on Monday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia's factory activity weakened in September as soft Chinese demand and global economic uncertainty pointed to a challenging outlook, private surveys showed, keeping policymakers under pressure to shore up their fragile economies.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will attend the annual parliament reopening (1200 GMT). Erdogan then will meet with his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb. Stubb and Erdogan will hold a joint news conference following the bilateral talks (1545 GMT).
MINISTERS
Turkish Industry Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir will speak in an interview to state-held Anadolu news agency (0800 GMT). Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli will hold a press conference on food safety (0700 GMT). Interior Minister will attend an event by the gendarmerie and coast guard (0730 GMT).
PMI DATA TRPMIM=ECI
The Istanbul Chamber of Industry will release the September manufacturing industry purchasing managers index (PMI) data compiled by S&P Global. (0700 GMT)
ISTANBUL INFLATION
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce will release inflation data for Turkey's largest city.(0900 GMT)
