Turkey - Factors To Watch on Sept 19
ISTANBUL, Sept 19 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.1130 against the U.S. dollar at 0406 GMT, compared with a close of 34.06 on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
The dollar bounced, long-dated bond yields were up and Asian stocks rose after the U.S. Federal Reserve announced a 50-basis-point rate cut and flagged that its easing cycle would be measured.
FOREIGN MINISTER
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will respond to questions by Anadolu news agency journalists (0800 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK MEETING TRINT=ECI
The central bank will hold its monthly monetary policy committee meeting and announce its decision on interest rates. The central bank is expected to hold steady at 50%. (1100 GMT)
CENTRAL BANK DATA TRNFR=ECI
The central bank will release its weekly data, including on forex reserves. (1130 GMT)
NORTHERN IRAQ
Turkish air strikes in northern Iraq destroyed 24 targets of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) on Wednesday, the Turkish Defence Ministry said in a statement, adding many militants had been "neutralised" in the attack.
