CHFJPY looks neutral in short-term Momentum oscillators suggest upside move CHFJPY is flirting with the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) above the 171.00 mark, which acted as a strong resistance level in the preceding days. The stochastic oscillator is opening the way for a test of the overbought area, while the RSI is moving higher below the neutral threshold of 50. Immediate resistance to more increases could come from the inside swing low on July 25 at 172.20 before rallying towa

CHFJPY has lost some ground over the last month Yet, overall picture remains overwhelmingly positive Decisive break below 160 level needed to change that   CHFJPY suffered a minor retreat in recent weeks, after hitting a record high back in November. CHFJPY consolidates after reaching all-time high Short-term bias looks neutral But downside risk if 50-day SMA doesn’t provide support CHFJPY has been drifting somewhat lower during September as the year-to-date uptrend lost its steam after reaching an all-time high of 166.57 on August 30. The short-term picture is neutral as the RSI has flatlined just below the 50-mark and the MACD is close to turning zero below its red signal line.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY extends rally to record highs

CHFJPY has been steadily marching higher this year, reaching its highest levels in at least four decades, since official records began. The pair is currently challenging those record highs near the 164.00 area, a violation of which would propel the market into uncharted waters.  On the weekly chart, momentum oscillators signal overbought conditions.

Technical Analysis – Is it finally time for a meaningful correction in CHFJPY?

CHFJPY is experiencing its fourth consecutive red-candle session after recording an all-time high of 161.64. It has been an almost exponential move from the January 13, 2023 low of 137.42 and like other JPY pairs, CHFJPY has not experienced a proper correction since the mid-March sell-off. The momentum indicators are gradually opening the door to a sizeable pullback.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY hits fresh record high as yen falls apart

CHFJPY hit its highest levels in at least four decades this week, since official records began. The pair is flying higher and higher into uncharted territory as the relentless uptrend has gone into overdrive. That said, most indicators suggest CHFJPY is increasingly overbought and might be subject to a correction before the rally resumes.  Momentum oscillators such as the RSI have risen to extreme levels on the weekly chart, and there seems to be some divergence forming, as the pair continues

CHFJPY has made a fresh all-time high at 156.57 as the latest leg of the rally that started on March 20, 2023 does not appear to have an ending. This pair quickly overcame that previous high of 151.41 and it has not looked back since. Understandably, CHF bulls must be in dreamland and unwilling to accept that the technical picture is probably showing some very early signs of rally exhaustion.

CHFJPY experienced a significant downtrend after peaking at its previous record high of 151.41 in September 2022. However, the pair managed to rebound strongly from its 2023 bottom, posting a fresh all-time high of 151.51 last Tuesday before paring some gains. The momentum indicators currently suggest that bullish pressures are fading but retain control.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY stands in medium-term ascending channel after sharp sell-off

CHFJPY is gaining some ground after the sharp selling interest in the preceding sessions, while it is currently flirting with the 20-day simple moving average (SMA). The technical oscillators are following the neutral-to-negative reaction in the market in the short-term timeframe. The RSI is ticking down in the positive region, while the MACD is losing momentum below its trigger line in the bullish area as well.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY sinks to 2-week low; bullish structure intact

CHFJPY lost almost 2.0% within two hours during Thursday’s European trading hours, plunging to a two-week low of 143.92 before edging slightly higher. The technical oscillators followed the price sharply lower, with the RSI sliding below its 50 neutral threshold and the MACD easing below its red signal line. The bullish market structure, however, remained intact within the upward-sloping channel, preserving some buying interest.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY struggles to beat its all-time high

CHFJPY started drifting lower on Monday, after it hit resistance once again at 143.20, a zone which has been preventing the bulls from climbing higher since June 30, a day after the pair hit its record high at 143.74. This, combined with the fact that the pair has been mostly trading above 138.65 since June 17, suggests a sideways range, and thereby paints a neutral picture.

CHFJPY is flashing a bullish bias as the price is approaching again the top of 143.74 – the highest since 1980 – following the reflection on the tentative support trendline at 137.14 almost two weeks ago. The pair also managed to hold above the Ichimoku cloud throughout the period and overcome its shorter-term simple moving averages (SMAs), making the RSI pivot northwards within the bullish area.

CHFJPY has been marching higher in the long term, generating a clear structure of higher highs and higher lows. Although the pair experienced a minor pullback recently, the short-term picture seems to be improving again, with the pair powering back to fresh highs. The short-term oscillators suggest that bullish forces remain in control. The MACD histogram is currently above both zero and its red signal line, while the RSI is sloping upwards in the positive territory.

CHFJPY came back swinging after its September low, reaching a 6-year high in early November. Since then, the pair is consolidating as it seems to be lacking the necessary momentum to advance higher suggesting an overall neutral outlook. The short-term momentum indicators suggest a negative bias, as the RSI is found slightly below its 50 neutral mark, while the MACD is found marginally above zero and below its red signal line.

Technical Analysis – CHFJPY falters near 6-year high as positive momentum fades

CHFJPY has been trending upwards since the beginning of 2021 but recently it seems to be lacking the necessary momentum to propel even higher. After peaking at the 6-year high of 125.49, the price has started to decline as the immediate bias suggests that the buying interest is subsiding. The short-term negative structure is further reinforced by the stochastic oscillators.
